Season 6 of "Young Sheldon" Expands the "Big Bang Theory" Mary Loophole

 The latest development on the set of Young Sheldon's sixth season furthers one of the show's major plot holes, which involves Mary Cooper, Sheldon's mother, and The Big Bang Theory.


The sixth season of Young Sheldon has added The Big Bang Theory to the list of shows that have doubled down on the Mary plot hole. New episodes of CBS's flagship comedy are coming back in less than a month. Despite this, content from the set has revealed some information about what to expect from Young Sheldon season 6, including what will happen with Sheldon's mother, Mary. Filming for the show has been in full swing for the last few weeks.

The unexpected pregnancy news that Georgie received near the end of season 5 of Young Sheldon caused a flurry of activity for the Coopers. Everyone has been affected by this in some way, but Mary has been hit the hardest. This is, of course, entirely within her right; however, it is one thing to put herself in a situation where everyone is obviously chatting about them behind their backs; it is quite another to include her children in such a socially uncomfortable situation. You can see how nervous she is as she walks into the church, knowing that everyone is watching. This suggests that Mary from The Big Bang Theory isn't as devoted a mother as she was portrayed to be. She should not have done this to the twins unless both Sheldon and Missy insist on going with her, which is highly unlikely given that they are not as devoted to Mary's religion as she is.
